Terms of sale
Last updated: 23 July 2026
1. Who you're buying from
These terms cover sales by [YOUR FULL LEGAL NAME], a sole trader trading as Shamrock PCs, of [YOUR ADDRESS, EIRCODE], Ireland. Contact: hello@shamrockpcs.ie, 089 948 6170. [Add once issued: CRO business name registration no. XXXXXX]
2. Placing an order
Nothing on this website is a binding offer — it's an invitation for you to make one. A contract exists once I've confirmed your order in writing (email or message) with the final specification and price. Until then either of us can walk away with nothing owed.
Stock listings are kept as current as I can manage, but I'm one person and parts move. If something's gone by the time you order, I'll offer you the nearest equivalent or refund you in full immediately.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices are in euro (€) and include free delivery within Ireland.
- Shamrock PCs is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on these sales and none is recoverable. The price you see is the price you pay. (Update this line if you register for VAT — that becomes obligatory once turnover passes the goods threshold, €85,000 a year.)
- The price you're quoted in writing is the price you pay. Component costs move constantly, but once I've confirmed your order the price is fixed.
- Payment by bank transfer or Revolut for delivered orders; cash accepted on collection.
- Custom builds take a deposit to cover parts ordered in, with the balance due before dispatch.
- Ownership of the PC passes to you when payment clears in full. Risk passes to you on delivery.
4. Delivery
Delivery timescales given on the delivery page are estimates in working days and aren't guaranteed — couriers occasionally have their own ideas. If delivery is going to be materially late, I'll tell you and you can cancel for a full refund if you'd rather.
Please check the box for damage on arrival. If it's obviously damaged, photograph it before unpacking further and tell me within 48 hours so the transit insurance can be claimed.
5. Your right to cancel
Because you're buying at a distance, you have 14 days from delivery to cancel under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013. No reason required. Tell me within those 14 days, return the machine within 14 days of telling me, and I'll refund you in full — including the original delivery cost — within 14 days of it arriving back. I cover the return courier.
A refund can be reduced to reflect any loss in value from handling beyond what's needed to check the machine works. Setting it up, installing your games and testing it is fine; damaging it or returning it with parts missing is not.
One exception worth knowing: for a bespoke build made to a specification you personally chose, the statutory cancellation right doesn't strictly apply. I honour the 14 days on custom builds anyway — but if a build used an unusual part sourced specially for you, I may deduct that part's cost if it can't be returned to my supplier. I'll always flag that in writing before you commit, never afterwards.
6. Warranty and faults
Every build carries a 12-month parts and labour warranty as set out on the delivery and warranty page. That warranty is given in addition to your statutory rights and does not restrict them in any way.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Where they aren't, you're entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. For the first six months a fault is presumed to have existed at delivery unless I can show otherwise. Nothing in these terms removes those rights, and any clause that tried to would be unenforceable anyway.
7. Software
Windows is supplied with a valid licence and activated before dispatch. Microsoft's own licence terms govern your use of it. I don't supply pirated software, cracked licences or grey-market keys of unknown origin.
8. Your data
If you send me a machine or a drive containing data, please back it up first. I take reasonable care, but I can't be held responsible for data loss during a repair or upgrade. See the privacy notice for how your personal information is handled.
9. Limits on liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited — including your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, liability for any one order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and I'm not liable for indirect losses such as lost earnings, lost game progress or lost data.
10. Complaints and disputes
Ring or email me first — most things get sorted in a phone call. If we can't resolve it, you can contact the CCPC or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. These terms are governed by Irish law and the Irish courts have jurisdiction.
